You are the data controller for your customers’ personal data. Markup acts as your data processor — we store and process that data only to provide the service to you.

Why we collect it

We collect your account information to provide and operate the Markup service under our contract with you (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR). We do not use your data for advertising, and we do not share it with third parties except as described below.

How long we keep it

We keep your data for as long as your account is active. When you delete your account, all data associated with your organisation — including all customer records, jobs, and documents — is permanently and immediately deleted.

Who we share it with

Your data is stored in a PostgreSQL database hosted on Railway (or Render). No personal data is sent to analytics services, advertising networks, or any other third party. Quote and invoice PDFs are generated on our servers and sent directly to your browser — they are not stored on our servers after download.

Cookies

Markup uses a single session cookie to keep you logged in. This cookie contains only a session identifier — no personal data. It is set as HttpOnly and SameSite=Lax and is required for the service to work. No tracking or advertising cookies are used.
